New Earrings

Hello everybody,

I know it has been a long time since my last blog post, but I have finally graduated from high school! I must admit it was a very tough year for me, but I made it and I only have three more exams left to sit. Once those exams are finished I will finally be free!

Anyway if you have been following my blog for a while some of you may know that I adore earrings (earring collection post), and my Mum just came back from Europe and as a gift she bought these adorable earrings.

They are very cute statement earrings and I believe that they would be perfect for spring and summer especially since the weather is hot and humid and for girls with thick hair like me, the hair is always in a bun during those seasons. In addition, wearing statement earrings can make give an extra depth to an outift.

Also, please excuse the lighting and quality of the photos where I am wearing the earrings. It’s pretty obvious I have been out of commission in terms of blogging. But anyway this is the end of my very quick update to you guys about how I have been going lately. My last exam is on the 21st of November, so from them on please be patient for my regular return.

Get Rid of Dandruff NATURALLY!!!

Hello my lovelies,

Today I’m going tot be sharing with you all how I got rid of my dandruff naturally and it is super effective!.

Some background information for you guys, I have suffered from severe dandruff ever since I was a kid and it has alway affected my confidence. I have tried a variety of different shampoos in order to combat this problem and none of them have worked, all they really did was either do nothing, make my hair dry, or give me more dandruff. Anyway one day I got fed up and just decided to ditch the shampoo and conditioner and see if I could find a different alternative that was natural, didn’t cost me an insane amount of money, and actually worked.

That was when I stumbled across the fact that apparently bi-carbonate soda gets rid of dandruff naturally and I was like ‘stuff it, I have nothing to lose’ and I decided to try it out for myself. I’m not gonna lie I was rather sceptical about using bi-carb soda and I didn’t think it would make my dandruff disappear, but i was pleasantly surprised. The bi-carb soda worked wonders on removing the dandruff from my hair and kept my scalp healthy and shiny and didn’t dry out my hair…too much. However, in order to ensure that my hair and scalp didn’t smell I decide to add lemon juice into the mixture just cause and I’m sure lemon has some positive health properties.

Two ingredient anti-dandruff ‘shampoo’ recipe

  • 1 tbsp. bi-carbonate soda
  • 1/4 of a lemon

Put the bi carb in a bowl and then the lemon juice and mix until it combines and forms a thick glue like consistency. (Note: adjust the measurements according to hair length, this recipe is for hair which sits just under the boob area)

How to apply to hair

  1. Rinse your hair with cold or lukewarm water.
  2. Apply some of the ‘shampoo’ on your hands and rub the mixture onto your scalp, ensuring that you apply all over your scalp not just the roots of your hair. With the left over mixture apply it onto the ends of your hair.
  3. Rinse the product out of your hair and that’s it.

There are some things to take note with this ‘shampoo’, when I first tried the shampoo my hair was dry as hell when it dried and my dandruff was gone. In order to combat that issue I have been applying argon oil to the ends of my hair, in an attempt to give my hair some extra care and nourishment. Normally the next day after I shower my hair is not as dry as it would be when I wash my hair on hair washing days. In addition, I only wash my hair once every 2-3 days.

That is the end of my blog post, I hope you guys enjoyed reading it and don’t forget to give some love to my YouTube channel.

What’s in my clutch?

Hello my lovelies,

I just had my formal the other day and it was amazing! It was great to go to a school event with the rest of my peers and teachers and not care about school work, but just to enjoy myself and flaunt my stuff.

Now for this post I’m going to be sharing with you guys what was in my purse, which I believe were essential for me to get by smoothly throughout the night.

These are a no-brainer and a must to put in a clutch. Even if you are not going through your menstrual cycle I would still recommend to bring one for someone else who maybe didn’t bring a pad or their period came early. Also if you do end up giving a spare pad to another girl in need, she will view you as her saviour, and wouldn’t that feel great?

Loose change

I believe that one should always keep loose change in their clutch in case their transport card runs out of money or doesn’t have the right amount of money in it. Also, I would bring loose change to buy a bottle of water from a supermarket or a milkbar that doesn’t take card. Remember guys hydration is key.

Bobby pins

Bobby pins are necessary to pin back pesky loose pieces of hair that have escaped out of the ponytail. What’s more bobby pins there might be some useful bobby pin hacks out there, so don’t forget your bobby pins!

Hand cream

If you have dry hands like I do then hand cream is a must. What’s more the soap in public toilets usually dry out my skin, so I believe that hand cream is a must in order to ensure hydrated and soft hands. The handcream I am currently using is from The Body Shop.

There’s no doubt about it lipstick rubs off when you eat, drink, and lick your lips so in order to ensure that you don’t have any weird looking lips always keep a tube of lipstick in your clutch. The one I’m curretnly using is from Revlon and has a nice glossy finish.

Lip balm

The lipstick I am currently using doesn’t conain any Shea butter in it as a result I have to carry around a tube of lip balm in order to ensure that I don’t have any gross cracked lips. The one I am using is from Nivea and contains SPF 15.  (Did you know lips can get sunburnt)

Mini perfume

There’s no doubt about it at the end of the night you are going to smell like a mixture of sweat and smoke. So in an attempt to stop that I suggest you bring with a mini perfume bottle. Simply because no one wants to smell like smoke or sweat or anything else that is gross. I am using a body mist from The Face Shop which has a very fresh scent to it.

Thank you for reading my article and I hope you guys enjoy. Please comment down below what are your clutch essentials. Also I have put a link to the video version of this post and I hope you watch it.

Review: The Face Shop’s Oil Control Water Cushion

Hello my lovelies,

Today I got stood up, so in order to ease my broken heart I went shopping. Cushion foundations have been all the rage in sout-east Asia especially in Korea with popular YouTuber Michelle Phan speaking highly of cushion foundations.

So, I made my way to The Face Shop and picked up the ‘Oil Control Water Cushion’. I am no stranger to The Face Shop and have enjoyed many of their products. Now, let’s get down to business on this foundation.

First of all when I purchased the cushion foundation I was given a refill for free, as part of the promotion they had going on.

In regards to the packaging of the foundation I quite like it. It looks very sleek and cool. Furthermore, I like how there is a section that separates the foundation and the sponge itself.

The product was very easy to blend on my skin and provided a decent amount of coverage. I applied one layer of the fondation over my face and it did not feel cakey. Throughout the day it did not feel like I was wearing make up and my skin felt very fresh.

Also, I have oily skin and I was very pleased with this product, considering it did not slip off my face.

The only negative I have for this product is that it makes my face slightly paler than it actually is. This is because of the sunscreen embedded in the formula. I know whiter skin is something that is sought after in Asia, but I felt uncomfortable with a face that was a different shade to my body. However, I can combat the pale complexion it gives to my face by applying bronzer.

An added bonus that comes with shopping at The Face Shop, which I enjoy is all the freebies they give.

In this trip I picked up a sample of their anti-aging eye cream and a face mask.

Overall rating

Value for money: I paid $31 and managed to get a free refill. 7.5/10

Quality: the coverage was good and I did not need to use a lot of product. However, the product making my skin paler was a let down. 6/10

Total: 13.5/20

Thank you for reading and if you guys buy this product let me know how you thought of it!!
