June Favorites

Hello everybody,

Today I’m going to be sharing with you all my favourite products of the month of June. I don’t have that many products to share with you all this month, considering it was a rather unremarkable month for me.

Makeup

My favourite makeup products of this month will be two lip products. Both of which come from ColourPop cosmetics. If you have read my May Favorites, then you will know that recently I have been dabbling in the world of lipsticks which I have never done in the past.

The first ColourPop lip product is from their ultra glossy lip range and is the shade ‘Up Do’. It’s a lovely peach shade which is perfect for a very subtle look and gives the lips a natural looking shine.  Honestly pair this lip with a nice light pink shimmer shade and you have the perfect spring time look right there.

The next ColourPop lip product is from their ultra satin lip collection in the shade prim. It is a lovely ruby red shade which I have been loving to death. It gives off that really sexy vampy look which I have been obsessed with and have always wanted to do. The only negative I would give this product which I try not to let bother me is that their staying power is not that amazing, as it does slip when I unconsciously wipe at my lips with my hand.

Skincare

My only skincare favourite would be this cleanser from Sukin. It is from their ‘Derma Sukin’ range which is great for sensitive skin and has a very mild and gentle formula. In addition, after using this product it has an instant brightening effect which gives the face a radiant glow. Also, i love how Sukin products are effective and cost affordable.

That’s it guys, that is the end of my blog post. I hope you guys enjoyed reading it. I know it was very short, but i promos next months one will be longer. Also please show support to the YouTube version of my June Faves, it would mean the world to me.

Peachy Keen Makeup Tutorial

Hello my lovelies,

Today I’m going to be sharing with you all this very girly and feminine makeup look inspired by peaches. It incorporates a variety of pinks and tan colours in order to create a soft yet vibrant look. So let’s gets started.

Eyes

  • To start off with apply a light brown matte shade all over the eyelids.
  • Then going in with a shimmer tan shade apply it on the centre of the eyelids.
  • Now using a fluffy blending brush use a light pink matte shade and apply it on the outer third of the eyes. Make sure it blends into the shimmer tan shade on the centre of the eyelids.
  • Use a hot pink matte shade and apply it on the outer third of the crease and the eyelids and blend it into the light pink shade. This will give your eyes more depth. In addition with the same shade apply it on the outer third of the lower lash line.
  • Now to make your eyes pop out some more use a medium brown shade and apply it on the outer crease of the eyes and blend. This will just add a nice colour to seperate the pinks.
  • Using a crayon eyeliner tight-line the outer third of your eyes and the inner third. Using the same eyeliner create a very subtle and thin cat eye. Do not extend the cat eye all the way across the eye only do it half way.
  • Using a matte black shade and an angled brush go over the cat eye and blend it out so it does not look harsh, but soft.
  • Using a pearly white shimmer shade apply it to the inner corners of the eyes, so they pop out.
  • To finish off the look apply generous coatings of mascara to the top and bottom lashes.

Lips

  • Apply a glossy peach shade on the lips.

That is it the look is now complete! I hope you guys enjoyed reading this and that you try it out. Don’t forget to leave me a comment down below I would love to hear your thoughts.

Colourpop Cosmetics Unboxing

Hello cuties,

A couple of weeks ago I ordered products for the very first time off of the Colourpop store and they finally came today. I always heard great reviews online about Colourpop cosmetics and I decided to check it out for myself and to see if it was worth the hype.

First and foremost I was pleasantly surprised at how cheap and cost-effective most of the items were. Lipstick for only $6 to me is an amazing deal, because I honestly expected to pay $15 for one tube of lipstick. In addition I also expected to pay an arm and a leg for shipping, but it was only $9.99 for any orders that were under $50 (international not within the US), which also surprised considering that was very cheap to ship from America all the way to Australia. My order took 10 days to get from the US to Australia.

For my first ever order I wanted to get their infamous lipsticks and their eyeshadows, so I decided to buy their ‘Nectar Collector’ which consisted of their ‘Blow Me Away’ eye shadow palette and their ‘Phase 1’ lip bundle. Along with the products I bought I was also able to get two free mini travel sized lipsticks. Unfortunately the ‘Nectar Collector’ is no longer available on the website, so if you want to buy those products you have to buy them separately.

My firs impressions on the products were that I was very surprised by how smooth and velvety the lip products were, they just glided on to my lips. There was no sticky feeling and my lips did not become dry, nor did they crack. The only negative would be that the lipsticks are not really smudge free and they do budge if I wipe my hand or a napkin across my lips.

Frick N' Frack

This one is great versatile colour which is very easy to pair with different outfits.

likeyy

This shade was the most upsetting to me because I thought it would be much darker.

prim

This one has to be the best colour out of all of them! It’s my first ever shade that is dark and vampy and I’m loving it.

Up Twirl

This colour I gave to my Mum because she loves vibrant pinks like this, so I couldn’t swatch it on my lips.

updoo

I normally am not a fan of glosses, but this one surprised me a lot. It gave a light sheen did not feel sticky and the colour was a very natural light pink.

As for the eyeshadows I still haven’t tested them out or done a swatch test because I want to create an eye look and then test out their staying power.

That’s the end of my post, I hope you guys enjoyed reading it. As always if you enjoyed reading my post please leave a comment and like this post.

Van Gogh: Four Seasons Collection

Today as part of my French cultural unit at school I got to go on a school trip to the National Gallery  of Victoria (NGV) in order to see Van Gogh’s Four Seasons Collection. The whole purpose of this collection was to focus on not only Van Gogh’s famous works which he is known for (Starry Night, Sunflowers), but his earlier works and the works that inspired himself. The theme of the collection were the four seasons of winter, summer, spring, and autumn which together symbolised the circle of life.

I thought it was amazing to see that Van Gogh was inspired not only by other western and European artists but eastern and Japanese artists. Van Gogh based many of his later works off of Japanese woodblock prints which focuses not on depth but on emphasising lines. I further enjoyed the evolution of Van Gogh’s works from the grey and dull drawings and paintings to the then more vibrant and colourful paintings with colours that stand out and contrast each other.

The only downside at visiting his exhibition was that there was a lot of people and that meant a lot of pushing and shoving and being unable to see most of the work. Aside from that it was truly beautiful and I am so lucky to have visited the exhibition.

Furthermore, what I love about the NGV is that they have some exhibitions on display for FREE! Which is great if you wanna pop by and just have look at some art.

Get Rid of Dandruff NATURALLY!!!

Hello my lovelies,

Today I’m going tot be sharing with you all how I got rid of my dandruff naturally and it is super effective!.

Some background information for you guys, I have suffered from severe dandruff ever since I was a kid and it has alway affected my confidence. I have tried a variety of different shampoos in order to combat this problem and none of them have worked, all they really did was either do nothing, make my hair dry, or give me more dandruff. Anyway one day I got fed up and just decided to ditch the shampoo and conditioner and see if I could find a different alternative that was natural, didn’t cost me an insane amount of money, and actually worked.

That was when I stumbled across the fact that apparently bi-carbonate soda gets rid of dandruff naturally and I was like ‘stuff it, I have nothing to lose’ and I decided to try it out for myself. I’m not gonna lie I was rather sceptical about using bi-carb soda and I didn’t think it would make my dandruff disappear, but i was pleasantly surprised. The bi-carb soda worked wonders on removing the dandruff from my hair and kept my scalp healthy and shiny and didn’t dry out my hair…too much. However, in order to ensure that my hair and scalp didn’t smell I decide to add lemon juice into the mixture just cause and I’m sure lemon has some positive health properties.

Two ingredient anti-dandruff ‘shampoo’ recipe

  • 1 tbsp. bi-carbonate soda
  • 1/4 of a lemon

Method

Put the bi carb in a bowl and then the lemon juice and mix until it combines and forms a thick glue like consistency. (Note: adjust the measurements according to hair length, this recipe is for hair which sits just under the boob area)

How to apply to hair

  1. Rinse your hair with cold or lukewarm water.
  2. Apply some of the ‘shampoo’ on your hands and rub the mixture onto your scalp, ensuring that you apply all over your scalp not just the roots of your hair. With the left over mixture apply it onto the ends of your hair.
  3. Rinse the product out of your hair and that’s it.

There are some things to take note with this ‘shampoo’, when I first tried the shampoo my hair was dry as hell when it dried and my dandruff was gone. In order to combat that issue I have been applying argon oil to the ends of my hair, in an attempt to give my hair some extra care and nourishment. Normally the next day after I shower my hair is not as dry as it would be when I wash my hair on hair washing days. In addition, I only wash my hair once every 2-3 days.

That is the end of my blog post, I hope you guys enjoyed reading it and don’t forget to give some love to my YouTube channel.

May Favorites

Hello my lovelies,

Today I’m going to be sharing with you guys my favorite products of the month of May, so let us get started!

Makeup

So this month I decided to try something new and I started dabbling with lipsticks. Normally lipsticks never took my fancy simply because I never thought they looked good on me, but I’ve been experimenting with different shades to see which would suit me. For this month I’ve been loving ‘3ina’s The Longwear Lipstick in 502’, it is a beautiful matte pink shade with hints of a purple base. I love the fact that this lipstick doesn’t smudge and the lip gloss style applicator makes it easier to apply. Also a little extra the lipstick literally smells like chocolate and I love it, it’s better than smelling like chemicals!

Beauty

Recently I have actually stopped using shampoo and actually started using bicarbonate soda instead. I won’t get too deep into this change of regime. as I’ll talk about it another time. Anyway, one of the things that I have recently invested in has been the ‘Face Shop’s Cherry Blossom hair mist’. I have used this product in the past and I was not really a fan of it, but I decided to give it one more try and it has become one of my favourite products. Before I only thought that it just made my hair smell nice, but it also gives my hair a long lasting shine which I have been loving.

Another beauty favourite of mine would be these ‘Kink-Free Spiral hair ties’. My hair is weird and ties itself into knots a lot especially when I used traditional hair ties and I found that they also tugged on my hair a lot and would be very painful. You wouldn’t think these spiral hair ties would be  effective in putting hair into a ponytail, but it has been amazing

I hope you guys have enjoyed reading this post and that May treated you all well. To be honest for me May was a little rough considering it is getting colder here in Australia, so getting out of bed is harder. I’ve been buried under stacks of homework and tests which have also caused me to experience a lot of stress. But hey May is gone and a new month has arrived, lets hope it’ll treat me and you all better. Also, I would love it if you guys checked out my YouTube video on my May favorites.

Pretty in Pink Makeup Tutorial

Hello my lovelies,

Welcome back to my blog and today I’m going to be showing you guys who to create this really soft and delicate makeup look, comprised of pinks and gold. It is a really sweet and subtle makeup look that softens the facial features and is perfect for a spring day. Let’s get started!

Eyes

  • Using a flat eyeshadow brush apply a light beige shimmer shade all over the eye lids.
  • Using a fluffy blending brush apply a matte pink shade on the outer third of the eye and blend the colour out. With the left over powder apply it to your lower lash line. For this look I’m technically using a blush shade, but I like how vibrant this shade of pink is.
  • Now using a small eyeshadow brush apply a lilac shade on the centre fold of the crease on the outer third, and with the same fluffy blending brush used previously blend it into the pink shade. What this does is it gives more depth to the eyes so they don’t look flat.
  • With a pale gold shimmer shade and a flat eyeshadow brush apply the colour all over the centre of the eyelids
  • Using an angled brush get a brown or dark purple eyeshadow and line your eyes creating a cat-eye.
  • Now it’s time to add highlight to your eyes. Apply a white shimmer shade on the inner corners of the eyes and halfway across the inner lower lash line. Also do not forget to apply the white shade onto the brow bone.
  • Using any mascara load up your lower and upper lashes with them.

Lips

  • With your ring finger apply a cherry coloured lipstick on the inner most part of the lips and with your your ring finger spread the colour out, this will create a gradient lip effect. Of course if you guys don’t want to use your finger you can use a flat makeup brush.

Thanks for reading this post and please check out my YouTube video on this look.
