Colourpop Cosmetics Unboxing

Hello cuties,

A couple of weeks ago I ordered products for the very first time off of the Colourpop store and they finally came today. I always heard great reviews online about Colourpop cosmetics and I decided to check it out for myself and to see if it was worth the hype.

First and foremost I was pleasantly surprised at how cheap and cost-effective most of the items were. Lipstick for only $6 to me is an amazing deal, because I honestly expected to pay $15 for one tube of lipstick. In addition I also expected to pay an arm and a leg for shipping, but it was only $9.99 for any orders that were under $50 (international not within the US), which also surprised considering that was very cheap to ship from America all the way to Australia. My order took 10 days to get from the US to Australia.

For my first ever order I wanted to get their infamous lipsticks and their eyeshadows, so I decided to buy their ‘Nectar Collector’ which consisted of their ‘Blow Me Away’ eye shadow palette and their ‘Phase 1’ lip bundle. Along with the products I bought I was also able to get two free mini travel sized lipsticks. Unfortunately the ‘Nectar Collector’ is no longer available on the website, so if you want to buy those products you have to buy them separately.

My firs impressions on the products were that I was very surprised by how smooth and velvety the lip products were, they just glided on to my lips. There was no sticky feeling and my lips did not become dry, nor did they crack. The only negative would be that the lipsticks are not really smudge free and they do budge if I wipe my hand or a napkin across my lips.

Frick N' Frack
This one is great versatile colour which is very easy to pair with different outfits.

likeyy
This shade was the most upsetting to me because I thought it would be much darker.

prim
This one has to be the best colour out of all of them! It’s my first ever shade that is dark and vampy and I’m loving it.

Up Twirl
This colour I gave to my Mum because she loves vibrant pinks like this, so I couldn’t swatch it on my lips.

updoo
I normally am not a fan of glosses, but this one surprised me a lot. It gave a light sheen did not feel sticky and the colour was a very natural light pink.

As for the eyeshadows I still haven’t tested them out or done a swatch test because I want to create an eye look and then test out their staying power.

That’s the end of my post, I hope you guys enjoyed reading it. As always if you enjoyed reading my post please leave a comment and like this post.

Get Rid of Dandruff NATURALLY!!!

Hello my lovelies,

Today I’m going tot be sharing with you all how I got rid of my dandruff naturally and it is super effective!.

Some background information for you guys, I have suffered from severe dandruff ever since I was a kid and it has alway affected my confidence. I have tried a variety of different shampoos in order to combat this problem and none of them have worked, all they really did was either do nothing, make my hair dry, or give me more dandruff. Anyway one day I got fed up and just decided to ditch the shampoo and conditioner and see if I could find a different alternative that was natural, didn’t cost me an insane amount of money, and actually worked.

That was when I stumbled across the fact that apparently bi-carbonate soda gets rid of dandruff naturally and I was like ‘stuff it, I have nothing to lose’ and I decided to try it out for myself. I’m not gonna lie I was rather sceptical about using bi-carb soda and I didn’t think it would make my dandruff disappear, but i was pleasantly surprised. The bi-carb soda worked wonders on removing the dandruff from my hair and kept my scalp healthy and shiny and didn’t dry out my hair…too much. However, in order to ensure that my hair and scalp didn’t smell I decide to add lemon juice into the mixture just cause and I’m sure lemon has some positive health properties.

Two ingredient anti-dandruff ‘shampoo’ recipe

  • 1 tbsp. bi-carbonate soda
  • 1/4 of a lemon

Method

Put the bi carb in a bowl and then the lemon juice and mix until it combines and forms a thick glue like consistency. (Note: adjust the measurements according to hair length, this recipe is for hair which sits just under the boob area)

How to apply to hair

  1. Rinse your hair with cold or lukewarm water.
  2. Apply some of the ‘shampoo’ on your hands and rub the mixture onto your scalp, ensuring that you apply all over your scalp not just the roots of your hair. With the left over mixture apply it onto the ends of your hair.
  3. Rinse the product out of your hair and that’s it.

There are some things to take note with this ‘shampoo’, when I first tried the shampoo my hair was dry as hell when it dried and my dandruff was gone. In order to combat that issue I have been applying argon oil to the ends of my hair, in an attempt to give my hair some extra care and nourishment. Normally the next day after I shower my hair is not as dry as it would be when I wash my hair on hair washing days. In addition, I only wash my hair once every 2-3 days.

That is the end of my blog post, I hope you guys enjoyed reading it and don’t forget to give some love to my YouTube channel.

May Favorites

Hello my lovelies,

Today I’m going to be sharing with you guys my favorite products of the month of May, so let us get started!

Makeup

So this month I decided to try something new and I started dabbling with lipsticks. Normally lipsticks never took my fancy simply because I never thought they looked good on me, but I’ve been experimenting with different shades to see which would suit me. For this month I’ve been loving ‘3ina’s The Longwear Lipstick in 502’, it is a beautiful matte pink shade with hints of a purple base. I love the fact that this lipstick doesn’t smudge and the lip gloss style applicator makes it easier to apply. Also a little extra the lipstick literally smells like chocolate and I love it, it’s better than smelling like chemicals!

Beauty

Recently I have actually stopped using shampoo and actually started using bicarbonate soda instead. I won’t get too deep into this change of regime. as I’ll talk about it another time. Anyway, one of the things that I have recently invested in has been the ‘Face Shop’s Cherry Blossom hair mist’. I have used this product in the past and I was not really a fan of it, but I decided to give it one more try and it has become one of my favourite products. Before I only thought that it just made my hair smell nice, but it also gives my hair a long lasting shine which I have been loving.

Another beauty favourite of mine would be these ‘Kink-Free Spiral hair ties’. My hair is weird and ties itself into knots a lot especially when I used traditional hair ties and I found that they also tugged on my hair a lot and would be very painful. You wouldn’t think these spiral hair ties would be  effective in putting hair into a ponytail, but it has been amazing

I hope you guys have enjoyed reading this post and that May treated you all well. To be honest for me May was a little rough considering it is getting colder here in Australia, so getting out of bed is harder. I’ve been buried under stacks of homework and tests which have also caused me to experience a lot of stress. But hey May is gone and a new month has arrived, lets hope it’ll treat me and you all better. Also, I would love it if you guys checked out my YouTube video on my May favorites.

Pretty in Pink Makeup Tutorial

Hello my lovelies,

Welcome back to my blog and today I’m going to be showing you guys who to create this really soft and delicate makeup look, comprised of pinks and gold. It is a really sweet and subtle makeup look that softens the facial features and is perfect for a spring day. Let’s get started!

Eyes

  • Using a flat eyeshadow brush apply a light beige shimmer shade all over the eye lids.
  • Using a fluffy blending brush apply a matte pink shade on the outer third of the eye and blend the colour out. With the left over powder apply it to your lower lash line. For this look I’m technically using a blush shade, but I like how vibrant this shade of pink is.
  • Now using a small eyeshadow brush apply a lilac shade on the centre fold of the crease on the outer third, and with the same fluffy blending brush used previously blend it into the pink shade. What this does is it gives more depth to the eyes so they don’t look flat.
  • With a pale gold shimmer shade and a flat eyeshadow brush apply the colour all over the centre of the eyelids
  • Using an angled brush get a brown or dark purple eyeshadow and line your eyes creating a cat-eye.
  • Now it’s time to add highlight to your eyes. Apply a white shimmer shade on the inner corners of the eyes and halfway across the inner lower lash line. Also do not forget to apply the white shade onto the brow bone.
  • Using any mascara load up your lower and upper lashes with them.

Lips

  • With your ring finger apply a cherry coloured lipstick on the inner most part of the lips and with your your ring finger spread the colour out, this will create a gradient lip effect. Of course if you guys don’t want to use your finger you can use a flat makeup brush.

Thanks for reading this post and please check out my YouTube video on this look.

BOLD MAKEUP LOOK

Hello my lovelies,
Today’s look is very unique and eyecatching and combines both warm and cool tones. This look is great for anyone who is experimenting with makeup and would like to create a statement look, but is not too over the top.

Eyes

  1. Using a pearly white shade apply it all over to the eye lids.
  2. Using a fluffy blending brush use a peach colour and apply it all over the eye lids.
  3. With an angled fluffy brush use a tan shade and apply it on the crease.
  4. Using the same angled brush apply a dark brown shade all over the crease. This will add more definition to the eyes.
  5. On the outer half of the lower lash line apply a dark blue shimmer shade with hints of green. (Look for a seaweed kind of colour)
  6. On the inner hald of the lower lash line apply a ight blue shimmer shade.
  7. With a black eyeliner create a very subtle cat-eye, the main focus should be the blue eyeshadow not the eyeliner.
  8. Now load up your top lashes with mascara. Do not apply any on your lower lashes.

Lips

  1. Line the lips with a mauve lip pencil.
  2. Using a baby pink matte liquid lipstcik apply it all over the lips.

That is the finished look. Please let me know in the comments down below if you liked the look, and check out the YouTube video I made of this look.

April Favourites 2017|Beauty, Accessories, and Books

Hello my lovelies,

Today I’m going to be sharing with you my favourite items during the month of April. These items are quite varied and fall across a range of different categories from beauty, accessories, and books.

Cosmetics

3ina-The 3in1 Foundation

I love how this product acts as not only a foundation but a primer and a concealer. The only negative I would give this product would have to be that the coverage is not as high as I would want it to be around my under eyes. However it does a great job at covering my acne scars.

Rimmel-Stay Matte Pressed Powder

I was very surprised with this product when I first bought it. Not only is it cheap but it does an amazing job at making my face matte and making sure my foundation stays in place and does not slide. What’s more it is long-lasting and controls shine and oil. I only have high praise for this product and I highly recommend that you guys buy it.

Accessories

Kitsch Place-Silver Statment Earrings

Recently I have been really loving statement earrings especially cool toned ones. However, I didn’t want anything too flashy and these earrings caught my eye. They are a nice silver colour with a simplistic geometric design. The layering of the two shapes catch the eye, but are too flashy which I love. What’s more I love how these earrings are handmade and they’re not as expensive as I expected them to be considering they were handmade. Because this store is a small business they don’t have a website so I just put a link to their Instagram.

Hoskings-Crystal Hoop Earrings

Here is another pair of earrings that I have been obsessed with during April which my Mum gave to me. They are a lovely rose gold colour and are very simple and subtle. I like how unlike the larger hoop earrings they don’t get caught in my hair, nor do I accidently pull on them when I’m brushing my hair with my fingers and I forget that I’m wearing hoop earrings. I couldn’t directly link you guys to the earrings because they weren’t on the site, so instead I just linked you guys to the Hoskings website in the earrings category.

Books

Haruki Murakami-Norwegian Wood

Haruki Murakami is a Japanese author and is one of my favourites. One of my life goals is to actually read all of the books that he publishes. I am obsessed with his style of writing, I love how when I read his stories it all seems to flow and there is no sudden fast motions forward, which isn’t a bad thing but not something I like when reading books. If I were to describe the process of reading his books it would be like floating across a body water. Norwegian Wood is an amazing book which talks about young love and loneliness and how they intertwine. Also on a side note about the book and possible spoiler (maybe) I am in love with Midori and her positivity and just her presence in general everytime she showed up in the novel I couldn’t help but smile.

I hope you guys enjoyed reading this blog post and if you want to see a photo of BTS’s J-Hope I sugguest you check out the YouTube video of my April favourites.
